Nuffield Health team runs Surrey Half Marathon in support of unpaid carers
A team from Nuffield Health sites across Surrey is gearing up to take on the Surrey Half Marathon on 22 March, raising funds for us at Action for Carers to help support unpaid carers of all ages.
Across Surrey, an estimated 120,000 unpaid carers provide vital support to family members and friends. Many deliver care around the clock, often without formal training or regular breaks, and can experience isolation, financial pressure and declining health as a result.
Funds raised through the Surrey Half Marathon will help us at Action for Carers Surrey continue delivering information, emotional support, respite opportunities and advocacy for carers across the county. By taking part in the event, the Nuffield Health team will help fund our vital services for carers while also raising awareness of unpaid caring and the support available through our charity across Surrey.
The team will take on the 13.1 mile challenge, showing their commitment to supporting and standing alongside carers in their local communities, and helping to shine a light on the vital role carers play.
